Players card at a casino sportsbook

Can you use a players card at vegas sportsbooks? Can you get comps for betting on sports?

You can....but when I talked to them at Mandalay Bay and the Mirage they said you would basically have to bet about $50,000 per day to get anywhere. But one thing I did notice was if you had a players card and stayed at the hotel, they would usually let you bet any amount you wanted on a game and they would give you more free drink tickets. The best way to earn comps (in my opinion) is to play craps and take care of the dealers when you start winning. I usually place a bet on the pass line of a buck or two for them (you can do this no matter what the limit on the table is) and then give it odds and they love this and the box man seems to "help" out the pit boss when he comes by to rate players. Another thing to do is to buy in with your whole bankroll at every table you go to. If you notice, like in blackjack, the dealer always has to let the pit boss know what he is giving out.

Another thing to note is, the way you are rated at table games is basically by the average size of your bet and how long you play. In craps it is usually the size of the pass or don't pass line bet (odds and all the other bets are not calculated for comps). In a game like Let it Ride, it is not the total of the 3 bets, but the amount of one single bet.

Hope this helps some!
