Please don't let this happen to your family.

This weekend our family had a near tradegy. Saturday evening, we were at the community pool and ordered some pizza. While we were eating, my 3 year old boy finished and asked to get in the baby pool. I kept checking on him and he was fine. I talked with my wife for about 1 minute or so and he was gone. As I searched the pool area, a man started shouting who's kid is this. It was mine. He was out, no pulse, no heartbeat and his entire face, lips and tongue were blue. He was gone! The lifeguard and that man began CPR and after about a minute, he was revived.

Our family was lucky, very lucky. My wife and I took our eye off our kids for 1 to 2 minutes and it almost cost us our little boy. I always thought that this would never happen to our family, but it almost did. My wife and I feel like crappy parents for allowing this to happen.

Please take this as a lessen if you have children. They move too quick and you can never ever take anything for granted with them. We learned our lesson the hard way.

Bosox Fan, the last thing you are is a crappy parent. So glad to hear that he is alive and well. Its one of lifes lessons that was learned the hard way but don't consider yourself a bad parent. You will look at your son different for a long time to come. Every day from this day forward is a plus. God speed to you and your family. Glad everything worked out for you and your family. Your a good parent Bosox fan.

Bosox glad to hear nothing terrible came out of it. Similar thing happened to me when I was about 5. You're right, the little ones you have to always keep your eyes on them.

Chris,

Living in SF, I am very familiar with tragedy and pools. It happens all to often around here and you are right it only takes a minute.

Glad things worked out. It's nice to here about some stories ending well and it looks like someone was looking down on you.

I got chills reading this. Really glad he is okay

Thanks guys for the kind words.

He is back to his normal self and actually really has no clue of what happened. This morning he actually asked to go back to the pool this afternoon.

It was just very scary situation!
