someone please tell me what it means when looking at RL, moreless how does it work?

Betting the Run Line you are either taking a team -1.5 runs or +1.5 runs.

RL = run line

One quick example is today Tampa is -157 on the money line. If you did not want to lay that much juice you could bet Tampa RL -1.5 +120. They have to win by 2 or more runs. You could bet Cleveland +1.5 -140 and they can lose by a run (like a point spread)
