Poker Shills

What are your guys opinions on these people? A shill is someone who uses multiple computers to hold multiple hands at one table, so at a 6 person table, if a shill uses lets say 3 sn's he/she will hold 50% of the hands and easily dominate the table. I have read about a few of these guys and they claim to make up to 5-10k a week. I don't know what to think about it myself. Obviously, I would hate to be at a table with one of these people, however, if they have the capabilities to fool the sites and get paid then God bless.

Thoughts....

Seems like these people should be easy to catch... afterall, all the activity is logged in the servers... the companies should be able to do simple queries to see which players tend to spend most of their time in the same room with certain other players.... at that point, all they have to do is call the ISP to get a names for each of the players.... if it's the same person, case closed.

ISP's aren't allowed to give out personal info to the sites. apparently, this goes on a lot though.

Not to spread rumors, but I believe Shark23 is a shill

He plays 4 games at once, while watching the Orioles and Cowboys, and chews gum all at the same time

What I know to happen the most when it comes to online poker scams is that two people will log on and get into the same game and table. They just call each other, tell each other what they have, and sandbag the rest of the table. Perfectly legal, and not a thing anyone can do about it. If you play poker on line, you have been educated.

How is it LEGAL to cheat? This scam you say is kinda like playing at a table in Vegas and using gestures to let you buddy know. Don't you get throw out if you are caught doing this?

Most poker sites security and fraud Departments are very organised and are trained to lookout for playing patterns such as those highlighted above.

In the case of collusion (cheating) they are fully entitled under the T's n C's to lock the accounts and make the relevant enquiries. Unfortunately the Boss Media network is one of the worst for customer service.

However the i-poker network run a promo where if you win 5 sit n goes in a row (harder than it looks) then you will get something like a $2, 3, or 4 thousand bonus. Before they payout they employ a security company to ensure the players playing at the table don't know each other and have refused to pay out in the past when they believe cheating has taken place.
