Poker Situation

Last night, since i was unable to register on time in the huge CM tourney, I played a $50 sit and go. 5 players left. I raise in 1st position with 9s-10s. Only the BB calls. Flop rolled jd-10d-5c. he quickly checked and that didnt even phase me. I had 4630, he had 3300. I bet out and he raises me, i re-raise with just mid pair, he pushes all in. i had this eery feeling im best RIGHT NOW, but i had this fool on some sort of draw. the only hand he can re-raise me with there without having top pair is Kd-Qd or 5-5. he holds J-J he re-raises pre-flop.

nonetheless i lay it down. i just read an article earlier by phil helumuth that even when you feel you are best the other player could get his chips on a better drawing hand. he indeed showed me Kd-Qd.

who else makes this lay down, or do u call and in essence re-gamble. he ended up beating me heads.

that was a good lay down...straight and flush draw...not a good combo for you, plus he could have caught a k or a q on you to beat you as well. smart play

depends what the blinds are man. If you have enough chips to lay it down then I think you made the right decision. That is why I hate online man. You can't get a read on a player.

Because that play was all about reading the player and you just can't get a good read online.

BTW who won the cm tourny?

p.s

he is a 65.76% chance of winning the hand in that position so you made the right decision.

Good idea........Playing tight is ok for tourny's and can be good in some live situations but you have to start mixing it up a little bit (if you can handle that) if you want to be a pro.
