Liver cancer is very rare in cats, so they think the tumor spread from elsewhere. The tumor is quite large, they have given us steroids in order to shrink it and buy Tony some time. Realistically 1-2 months. Bummed out.

Thanks guys.... he's hanging in there... the steroids are helping his appetite. although I haven't noticed the size of his gut shrink yet, which the vet said we should notice after 3 days on the roids.

This is always tuff and it gets harsher. Spend as much time around him as possible. Just your presence means alot to him.

Dave, I'm so sorry to hear this
We recently had a thread in the proline forum about our pets
we get so close, its unfair that their life span is shorter than ours
but focus on the good times, and all the love Tony has given you
he sure is a handsome guy by the way

I got 4 cats here with me, 2 watching MNF with me right now
I realize a tumour is pretty serious, but if it helps, my boy, Skynyrd had some radical urinary tract surgery, almost lost him, and that was Feb 2009 and he's still here and doing great

God Bless (dang I have a tear in my eye as I type this)

as an aside, I'm impressed with the number of cat/pet lovers here in the mall
I've met some real losers who have no idea about the love a cat can give
