Can you check this math problem

2/3(x+5)= 1/4(x+2)

my answer is 34/5

6x+8-22x=28+14x-10+12x

my answer is 5/21

how bout this Q....Jim is building a recantuglar deck and wants the length to be 3 feet greater than the width. What are the deminsions if the perimeter is 54FT

My Answer is 9 by 6 Feet

P = L + W + L + W
P = 2 (L + W)

Since L must be 3' longer than W.....therefore....
L = W + 3

P = 2 [(W + 3) + W]
54 = 2 (2W + 3)
27 = 2W + 3
24 = 2W
W = 12
Therefore.....L = 15' and W = 12'

Your notation is ambiguous.
Not sure if you mean
(2/3)(x + 5)
or
2/[3(x + 5)]

Use brackets and retype the questions.

The Skipster is right. 9X6 would give you an area of 54 but the perimeter is only 30
