ALREADY voted one of the most dishonest and unethical professions, real estate agents can now add infidelity to their list of achievements.

Real estate workers are the most likely to cheat on their partners, with 68per cent admitting to cheating on their loved one.

Research by online dating agency Redhotpie found 50 per cent of Aussies admit doing the dirty behind their lovers' backs and 38 per cent had been the victims of infidelity.

The survey of nearly 5000 Australians found more men admitted cheating then women, but more men say they would forgive their partners.

Salesmen, construction workers and call-centre staff were the worst cheaters (60per cent), students and IT workers some of the best behaved (40per cent).

Fifty per cent of Victorians admit cheating on their partners and 37per cent said their partners had once cheated on them.

AshleyMadison.com, the dating site for married people (yes, you heard right), surveyed all of their new members last year. Of the 1.9 million folks who signed up to cheat, er, date in 2009, these were the top professions:

For Women:
1. Teachers
2. Stay-at-home Moms
3. Nurses

5. Real Estate Agents

For Men:
1. Physicians
