PS3 Doesn't work

I am just warning some gamers out there that just downloaded the new firmware 3.15 and you play COD2 it will mess up your system. I have to go buy a new one now, because it will not read any of my disc or movies. Just a waring. I wouldn't download the new updates.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Happened to me a couple months back. They only cover you with a 2 year warranty, and I had it for 2 years 2 months, after 2 years its a $150 to have that particular issue fixed. Still had the receipt, called in and asked to speak with a manager. They over nighted me a box and I had it back, fixed with no questions asked within 2 weeks free of charge . Might be worth a try if you still have the receipt Smet. If you go on the ps3 website that is a very common system failure its right in the troubleshooting section of their site.

This happened to me about 2-3 months ago but was not related to COD2. I had to ship my ps3 to Sony to fix the blu ray drive for the not so friendly price of $150. I've had no issues with firmware updates nor COD2 since I got my system fixed though thankfully.

Thanks for the info, I might just open it up and fix that laser myself. I could just spend another 150 and get a whole new one. That is what I am debating right now. I got offered 100 for my old one. I am in withdraws.
