"Public Enemies"

Opens Wednesday starring Johnny Depp as John Dillinger.

Big story in the local paper about it today as Dillinger and alot of the big gangsters from that era used to hide out in St. Paul while the cops looked the other way. All they had to do was just not commit any crime here. That era of America fascinates me

Will be seeing it later this week and will give my review. Anybody else planning to see this?

your review if it's good may get me to go see it, but i live here in chicago and have really no interest right now. depp is a a+ actor but some movies like this i know how they end and feel like seeing the story that led there is kind of a rehash...not sure anything about chicago crime after untouchables is really ever going to cut it, but again i'll wait for your review i hope it's good and worth seeing

this is true, as much as one would want to hate brad pitt he actually picks pretty good parts....guy could sell out and do romantic comedies easy but for the most part picks bad ass movies i.e. fight club, seven, kalifornia, snatch, oceans movies etc..

disclaimer :benjamin buttons borderline gay but will give him a pass and thelma and louise was before he was famous.

Just got back from seeing it

Would give it about 7 out of 10 stars

Johnny Depp was great, as usual. The man is a great actor. Christian Bale is still about as wooden as you get. Don't know what people see in him. Liked him in "American Psycho", not much in anything else

Film concentrates a little too much on the romance part of it for me. Great cars and shoot out scenes. Film does take some creative license with the facts a few times, but if you know the Dillinger story, some of what you think are creative license are really fact.

Got four out of four stars in the local paper, Think that's a little much, but did find it pretty entertaining

Thanks for the review Gerk. Paper here said it was a little long also. Still going to see it this weekend. As for the Bale love, I think its the internet that does it. The Batman fanboys coupled with the too cool for the room small budget movie guys created most of the buzz IMO. Think he is a very good actor though still, The Prestige was unbelievable
