Wow!! - picked up this little gem at Best Buy today for $5.00. Well, okay, I had 2 $5.00 coupons and it was marked down to $14.99 from $19.99..... still - best 5 bucks I ever spent!!!

This is an INCREDIBLE DVD!!! - Well worth the wait!! Do yourself a favor and buy it, steal it, rent it, download it, whatever!! And if you have 5.1 you are going to melt in your seat when they do the complete Dark Side of the Moon!!!

Its stuff like this that truly make life worth living!!!

Leafs: How does 7.1 work with 5.1 encoded DVDs?
Are the other 2 channels the same as two of the 5.1 channels just positioned differently? - Or do some DVDs actually have 7.1 Surround on them?
(Sorry, new to the surround world and only have a 5.1 setup)...

Some DVD's are made with 7.1 but are exspensive....I actually do not have one!
as for the 5.1 sound DVD's, my sytem can play 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 sound....it is programed to read and play at the best quality offered, when a 5.1 goes on it channels threw to all 8 speakers and Sub (2 front sides,1 front middle,2 back sides,1 back middle and 2 in center of room up high facing down) and levels it out properly....it is really to cool!
To set it all up, at the end I hit the program button walked out of the room and the system registered room space, distance form speakers to unit, distance from speaker to speaker....anyways it mapped out my room and balanced the sound to perfect sound quality for that room.....The beers were flowing that day and let me just tell you this..............

Go get the Eagles CD "When Hell freezes Over" and if you have the 5.1 THX decoder built in to your unit you will be able to play the bonus track....and it will BLOW you away!!!!
Hands down the sweetest CD to date to listen to on your system!

And nowadays systems are built to accompany 7.1...you should see if yours can be turned over
