Putting a pet down

I leave in an hour to have my cat put to sleep...I have had this cat for 13 years....besides my mother's death, this would be the next biggest event in my life......this cat meant the world to me..plus, I was allergic to her if that tells you anything......so sad

Condolences Kat, I had to put down 2 dogs about 5 years ago within a year of each other. I had both cremated and now their ashes sit on the fireplace with a picture of each next to them. They are never forgotten. But the good thing about pets is you go get another and eventually the pain goes away.

Thoughts are with you today. Its a hard thing to do but its so peaceful to see them go to sleep with no struggles. Hope your day is the best it can be.

You gave him a gift by adopting him and he knows that; it's also a gift to him to remove the pain.

The Vet said that I had two choices....1) She is 15 and I could put her down, or 2) Put her on IV'S run some kidney tests and theres a chance that she could leave another 6 mos to a year...but nothings for sure......To take option one killed me...just uttering the words made me start balling as I looked at my cat....If she was 10, I would have done it...Then they try upsale you on the arrangements.......cremation, cremation with ashes scattered at a pet cemetery, ashes put in a urn, cremation with urn and pics.......just get me the hell out of there.............

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Always very sad to have to make these decisions with one's pets.

my cat got diabetes real bad and it broke my heart everyday, I balled when they were putting him down and he took his last gasp of air. My sister had him cremated and kept the ashes.
