Question for those that are computer savvy

I wanted to know if anyone knows how to download a youtube file into a mp3 or other music file so i could put it on my ipod. There are a lot of versions to songs that i enjoy on youtube and would love to put them on my ipod. I would assume it's possible, but i have no idea how to do it. Thx

i use a program called bearshare. pretty much just look up the title if i see a good song i want..you can get pretty good qualities too bc i dont know how the quality is when you convert it from youtube like that
