Reaching out.
Guys I am reaching out. I very recently got myself involved a new venture. It involves direct marketing for internet sales. I actually own my own entertainment retail site as part of a franchise more or less. My problem is this is so far from anything I have any real experience. I'm not sure about how to promote my site or direct traffic to it. I don't really know how to go about approaching someone to listen to all potential in them starting their own site. I feel pretty confident that on this site there are several successfull people in the business world that could lend a helping hand. I'm pretty open to most suggestions simply because I am better at capping games than running a business and I just went 0-10 this weekend capping.

Everyone has heard about i-Tunes. Also there is probably very few people that hasn't heard about Netflicks. My store/site is a combination of this and more. --- is a combination of this and more. Currently is is just a music download site. A legal download site where you can choose to buy a single song or an entier album. Coming is January though we will be launching our 2.0 version software that will enable us to carry DVD's, ring tones, and e-books. Shceduled in the first quarter of 2007 Sony is coming on board and we will also be offering Playstation games that you simply burn right from the site. Another area of entertainment that many people are getting more into are podcast. One of the very near advancements will be the ability to podcast your very own radio show directly from your site.
The company already has an impressive selection of sport and music celeberties on board with their very own webstores. Shaq,Dale Jr. Danica Patrick, Bob Stoops, Kelly Holcomb, Shane Matthews, Chris Doering, Toby Keith, Justin Timberlake just to name a few. The celebs are nice but what impressed me more were the business world pro's that jumped in. There are former presidents, CEO's, Founders and members of companies such as Lexxus, Excel Communications, American Express, eCast, 456 Digital and Blockbuster. Those guys being involved and seeing the potential behind this is what really got me excited. So you can see I am very excited about this company and the potential for growth it has. I'm truly wowed by the fact that I am in early enough in the game that there are only 12 states and roughly 50,000 people on board in the first 9 months. I'm absolutely stoked that I am in prior to the first quarter of 07 when it launches in the European markets. On the business side is where I'm not sure about the things I am doing. I went to GoDaddy and registered ---. I opened an account and have the --- so potentials can contact me. I can handle flyers and word of mouth but that is where my experience ends. I don't know how to go about getting banners on others sites or some other ways of promoting my personal site or the potential others that want to create their own sites. This is where some help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Dr. Jack; 11-08-2006 at 07:53 AM. Reason: remove email, links |

I was on a roll and forgot about the rule Dr. Jack. My apologies. For my screw-up I will post a fade play over on the college football board.

How does this flow as a hookletter?
Every one of us can understand that windows of opportunity are open for only so long in life. Some very insightful people have been in position in life to recognize an open window and jump in to make the most of a situation. Who among the people you know were intuitive enough to see where Microsoft would go? How many people do you know that jumped in early on Wal-Mart or Starbucks? I can tell you I don’t know any of these people. Now ask yourself this, if there was a portal in time where I could go back and be one of the early investors on any of these highly successful companies would I do it? Unless you’re highly opposed to prosperity the answer would be a resounding YES! Unfortunately we don’t have those portals though. We can only hope that at some point an opportunity will come along at the right time in our lives that we take that leap of faith on. What if that leap didn’t have to be such a big leap after all? What if the investment was so very manageable that it didn’t really seem so much like an investment at all? What if what you were investing in was something on some level that everyone is into? It’s a pretty safe bet that that most everyone you know either watches movies, listens to music, plays video games or reads books and next time your out in public count the number of different ring tones you’ll hear in any given day. All these things are forms of entertainment and we have all embraced them as part of our everyday lives. That trend is hardly about to change. Now, remember when you used to have to go to the movies to see a flick. Then came videos and you could go to the rental store to get a new release. All of a sudden you didn’t if have to go to the rental store any more you got them delivered right to your mailbox. The same scenario is true with music. The transgression from wax, to tape, to cd’s to file sharing. What might the next progression be for tomorrow? Well, tomorrow is today. Today you can go to one source and download the latest cd from your favorite artist. You can burn the newest release from the hottest movies. You can download and listen to great novels from your favorite authors. You can download the coolest and wackiest ring tones. You can download, burn and play the best Playstation games. You’ll be able to broadcast you very own radio podcast right from your retail site. I’ve missed out on a vast amount of opportunities in my life. I’ll not be missing out on this one. Will you? |
