It's funny, when I moved from Michigan to Louisville everyone thought I was an inner city kid and that Michigan was nothing but Detroit.

They don't realize that Michigan is mostly country and a ton of uninhibited land, especially the further north you go. When I tell them I graduated high school with 62 people they don't believe me!

When I visited Detroit, they asked me if I rode a horse to school... Carried a six shooter... Sad I couldn't afford a horse at that age... Carried a "15-shooter".

I thought that about MI too... But I've been vacationing on the UP for about 7 years now... I've driven below the bridge too... Really beautiful int the summer... Green and lots of flowers in towns... Winter... No thanks...

That's what I tell everybody also. In the sumertime, there is no place I would rather be than Northern Michigan. 3,000 miles of sandy beaches, 75-80 degrees and no humidity. Problem is that is only 4 months out of the year, the rest of the time get me out of there!!

Used to spend a lot of time in the UP myself. Grew up camping and playing in a lot of basketball tournaments up there, St. Ignace, etc. Where about do you vacation at?
