Read something about them being a good investment. I know it's a Real Estate thing, but what are they?

ever heard of google?

they have been doing awesome, as you can imagien with the entire housing market boom last 5 years

its corporation that invests in real estate free of corporate tax, in return they must distribuite income to investors, sold just like shares of a company

usually require a higher investment minimum however...so not for all

real estate investment trusts

They pay huge dividends that can be re-invested but some carry high expense ratios.

What's google?

Some times a person is better than research. Is it worth it if I have 10k to invest?

i wouldn't put the whole 10K in a REIT...i'd only put 10%-20% in a REIT...asset allocation...money management....same as sports betting...if I had 10K to invest I would...

10% commodities (oil and gas mutual fund)
10% REIT
55% S&P 500 ETF
25% Emerging Markets ETF

I have some of my 401K in Reits. I really like RAS and have owned them for over 5 years now, good dividends and solid earnings and growth.
