removing surface scratches off discs

I've finally discovered a way to remove dirt/fingerprints off discs without leaving any smudges.

Now,

Anybody know how to remove surface scratches from CDs, DVDs BRDs or CD ROMs?

I've tried the toothpaste method which seems to be the most popular method online and it didn't work at all and I also tried Pledge furniture polish.

I don't mind experimenting with a sensible product even if it damages the disc as I have a couple dozens to try it on.

They have Disc Replays by my house.
They are a second-hand shop buying/selling used discs.

If I ever have a problem, I'd bring it in there and they run it threw a machine and it usually solves any problems, for free, since I go in there once in a while and am nice to them.

Other than that machine, nope.

I know the machine you're talking about. It buffs the cream they apply on it at high speed.

I thought of buying a pre-viewed DVD once at Blockbuster and the guy ran it through the machine 6x...almost an hour and a half later I gave up. It did remove some scratches but not all. Besides, they have fluorescent tube lighting in their stores and what doesn't show there shows under sunlight or incandescent lighting.

I'm not giving up just yet...there has to be a common product out there that will work.

I have tried that in the past. All it does is make the disk sparkle.

I'm back to trying the toothpaste. This time I will let it dry on the disc for 24 hours before cleaning it off. What I'm thinking here is it could be like plastering dents in drywall...plaster compound must be dry before sanding or wet sponging else you remove it all. Let's see tonight at 10pm if it fills the crevices and make them naked to the eye. If not then I still think I'm on the right path and have to find another clear pasty product that will work.

I use this stuff called ceramabrite. It's for glass stovetops and it works great.

That could work. I had some but used it all in my last kitchen spring cleaning. I'll give it a shot next time I buy a small bottle.

...30 hours later and the toothpaste on the disk is still not dry to my liking to attempt to clean it.
