Reverse Parlays (minimizing losses)

Usually, the sportsbooks will give you the following payouts for parlay bets.

2 Teams Pays +274 (2.74)
3 Teams Pays +624 (6.24)
4 Teams Pays +1301 (13.01)
5 Teams Pays +2610 (26.10)
6 Teams Pays +5142 (51.42)

It means that a 2 team parlay would pay 2.7 units, a 3 team parlay would pay 6.2
units, a 4 team parlay would pay 13 units, a 5 team parlay would pay 26 units, a
6 team parlay 51.42 units, etc.

So if you would place a 1 unit parlay bet on 3 bets to win all, and if they all
win, you get 6.2 units. If either one loses, though, you would lose 1 unit.

Now, here's the money management:

- Bet 2 units straight on each team
- Bet 1 unit on a parlay bet on all the above teams
- Bet 1 unit on a reverse parlay on the all the opponents of the above teams.

Let's say we have 3 games we would like to bet on. We place 2 units on each
team to win, 1 parlay bet on all those 3 games and 1 parlay bet on all the
opponent teams to win. Let's say also that the vig is 0.10, that is you risk
110 to win 100.Â

If all 3 bets win, you gain 6 units plus 6.24 units on the parlay. You would
only lose the 1 unit on the reverse parlay. In total you would win 11.2 units.

Now if all 3 bets lose, you would lose 6.6 units on the bets, the parlay on the
3, but you would win 6.2 units on the reverse parlay. Your total loss would be
6.2 - 7.6 = -1.4 units only, despite the fact that you lost all 3 bets.

On a 4 team play, if you lose all 4 bets, you would lose 8.8 units on the bets,
1 unit on the parlay, but you would gain 13 units on the reverse parlay, overall
profiting: 13 - 9.8 = 3.2 units despite losing all 4 bets!

Let's summarize in the following chart the gained or lost units betting on
2, 3 and 4 games for all different possible scores:

2 game parlay:

scoring 2-0 = 4 -1 +2.7 = +5.7 units
scoring 1-1 = -2.2 units
scoring 0-2 = -4.4 + 2.7 -1 = -2.7 units

3 game parlay:

scoring 3-0 = 6 -1 + 6.2 = +11.2 units
scoring 2-1 = 4 -2.2 -1 -1 = -0.2 units
scoring 1-2 = -4.4 units
scoring 0-3 = -6.6 + 6.2 -1 = -1.4 units

4 game parlay:

scoring 4-0 = 8 -1 +13 = +20 units
scoring 3-1 = +1.8 units
scoring 2-2 = -2.4 units
scoring 1-3 = -6.6 units
scoring 0-4 = -8.8 + 13 -1 = +3.2 units

As you can see, this method protects from losing all bets
for a specific day and
gives you lots of units for winning all of placed bets, with some small
compromises when you win or lose some of the bets and not all.

This is just another idea for having fun at sports betting and to help the part
time bettor to win more money.

Of course you'll need more than one sportsbook to wager both
for 3 teams and against 3 , etc .
