Reward Point Loans

Would you want the ability to loan and collect interest on Reward Points?

System has the ability so just wanted to get the general feeling about this.

Good, bad or ugly?

yea, but then what prevents someone from running up a 1000 debt on one name, then having them donate to their other name so they would have 1000 ... do that with 5 names, and you get like 5000 points in a jiffy ...

Would need to look at it and figure ways to prevent that kind of stuff. Maybe only members with a certain amount of posts being able to loan, etc. I don't know exactly what limitations there is on it but was going to start looking at it in the near future.

yep, that would be my only concern ... or someone running up a huge -5,000 tab and then just saying F it and creating a new name and starting over ...

just my thoughts on the risks of the program jack!

Honestly it sounds cool but i think it could lead to some terrible drama. I can only imagine all the stiffing that would be going on.
Is CM going to guarantee the loans? what if someone is out thousands of points? whats their recourse to get the points back? Will CM then ban the user? prevent them from coming in as ghost? IP ban?

Could this lead to CM losing valuable members that go on a bad streak and then cant pay?
How would it affect the points book?

the problem with points is that you really cant earn them fast enough to make up big debts. You can always make more money by working another job, not paying bills, even stealing. whatever. Reward points can only be earned here and by doing certain things that give back very little number of points. I cant see many people getting out of holes.

Yes, those are fair points to consider for sure and I would have to figure out those questions. I don't know maybe cap it. It was just a thought, maybe it could lead to some kind of good idea

But valid points.

I will let you purchase Cappersmall Reward Points insurance for a monthly fee of 5 points. I will insure you up to 5,000 cappersmall reward points.

Smetty's Reward Points Insurance is now open for business.

Looking to retire in 5 years.

I think that only mods () or designated "bankers" should lend points out.

I dont know how this would affect your sponsors and reward point exchanges. Is possible someone creates many accounts, they borrow pts, then donate or lend to a single user who then can exchange points for actual free plays/cash acct. Then disappear.
I dont know how likely but possible.

biggest concern is the possibility of stiffs not paying back. Without recourse, the lender would probably just have to "stalk" the borrower and create drama. We know what happens from there.

Another option as well.

I think it would be best to keep things small. Example maybe we had a 50 point contest and someone needed a few points.

This is a good thread though cause gives me things I didn't think of. lol

Loan sharking? Say it ain't so Jack
If you need a debt collector my bro in law is president of local Iron Coffins Chapter.

In all seriousness though i think it would be a bad idea. I think there will be more people abusing the privilege then not and causing unneeded drama
