If you never tried it you don't know what you are missing. Sure you have to pick thru kills but some are as fresh as straight from the store. Had Cotton tail at the club yesterday and it was wonderful. So far I have eaten Gray squirrel, Cotton tail, Quail and dove. When eating birds make sure to get them off of the radiator as soon as you can. If you don't they taste a bit like anti-freeze. I prefer smoke flavor it helps with the smell.

make sure the intestines are not busted on large game as it makes for a very gamey taste.

Just hit a ground squirrel on the way to work today. They are not nearly as good eating as a Tree Squirrel.

Safety warning. Ground Squirrel not to be eaten again. It went down but it came back up. Its buzzard food now.
