Router Help

TRying to install a new router
Nothing but headaches

Had a netgear that used a 5vdc 1A adapter
no power light showed up
Slapped on 13v 0.8A adapter and it works
Tried a 5v 1.2A adapter, no power light again

So the adapter it came with did not work, then it is faulty and you should go exchange it.

The netgear is what I had in the first place, that was working until recently.
It seems like the 5vdc 1A adapter that was with the netgear is giving out the 5v, but the router is needing more volts to power it.

Switched to a D-Link, but keeps losing connection, or will not let me view some web sites(ie Cappersmall)

ok try this...unplug your connection from computer but leave the power on and take a pen or something thin and sharp. look in the back, there should be a little round bottom where it says reset. stick the tip in there for 5 seconds..you'll know it reset if the lights in front all blink. after that connect your computer again and see if that helps..
