Soak in a hot tub with epsom salt.

Yankee, don't put heat on it. The best thing for a bad back is ice. Ice your back for 20 minutes and then go 20 minutes with out ice, Then start all over again with the ice. Heat actually causes the back to keep the swelling and ice runs the swelling away. Is it your lower back or upper. Either way stop with the heat. Good Luck they can be very painful.

Heat causes the swelling to stay in the back and lets more fluids come into the area. Cold runs them all away. I feel for you Yankee. Threw my back out once on spring break. Needless to say I spent the spring break in my bed. Took me 3 days to get over it and my friends went out and partied it up. Never will I forget that trip. Hope it gets better and start taking some anti-inflamitories (sp). They can help a lot also. GL

Treating a sprain or strain depends on the joint involved and the severity of the injury. For mild sprains and strains, your doctor likely will recommend basic self-care measures and an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others).

In cases of a mild or moderate sprain or strain, apply ice to the area as soon as possible to minimize swelling. In cases of severe sprain or strain, your doctor may immobilize the area with a brace or splint. In some cases, such as in the case of a torn ligament or ruptured muscle, surgery may be considered.

My ex girlfriend did that once at a golf tourney.

Knocked me down for the count, worst experience ever.

Put myself on the DL for a couple of days. Motrin and ice are slowly making it come around. No hard stuff with my daughter around, although they would be nice.

For fantasy purposes, will you still be able to make your scheduled start this weekend, or should I put you on the shelf??

Had to pull out of a golf tourney today but it's a monsson outside so it will probably be cancelled.

If I may quote Charlie Steiner. "List me as day-to-day, but then again aren't we all."
