Searching for a good drink with cigar!

Have been getting more in to cigars for the past year. Not much of a liquor drinker, but wanted to experiment with something other than red wine and coors light while enjoying a nice cigar. Have read that scotch, brandy, and cavasier, are good.

Dont want to go out and buy a whole bottle of anything in case I don't like it. Would like hear some thoughts!

Bourbon pairs nicely with a good cigar and you can't go wrong with either Woodford Reserve or Blanton's

Try a good stout beer. A chocolate stout goes real good with a cigar.

I tried Chivas Regal scotch last night and couldn't even finish it. I guess I just don't have an aquired taste for it. I actually didn't even finish my cigar. I went back to my beer and it just wasn't the same, so I put it out.

I think I will try the bourbon next.

I have had a run in with port and it was not good (the night and result, not the port).

Chocolate stout sounds interesting, you have a certain brand name?

Best brand I have had so far was Muskoka Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout $10 for 750ml, but this is a Canadian company so I doubt you can pick it up where you are. Youngs Double Chocolate is good.

If you didn't like scotch, I doubt you'll like bourbon. Some people aren't cut out for hard liquor.

If the scotch or bourbon makes you gag, try smoothing it out by making a manhattan. It's a classic cocktail that can be made with all types of whiskey. It does not have to be consumed in a martini glass if you don't want to look like a bitch, just get it straight up in a rocks glass. Heres a recipe.

Manhattan Cocktail Recipe - How to Make a Classic Manhattan Cocktail

Manhattans are old school. You won't look like a phuk head as if you ordered a cosmo or an appletini.
