No...

IMO this would be too risky and i would think that by shaving points it could be almost obvious what ur doing if ur too aware of what ur doing. If caught, things start to snowball on u: lose scholarship, kicked out of school, put a black eye on both your school and yourself, etc etc..

Surely this happens tho...

Its hard to know, unless you walk in that person's shoes. So its a pass for me.

I mean if you are an average at best college player and money is tight as it is for some students...... and you get a five figure sum flashed in front of you by a syndicate or Bookmaker for shaving on a game with little meaning, many would do it.

Wouldn't be able to live with myself if I knew I cheated other players on my team.....hard work and dedication isn't meant to be cheated by the fact someone has given up and wants to take part in illegal, selfish activity.

I would never shave points, ever.

i wouldnt but i know plenty out there playing would. It probably happens a lot when teams are favored by a decent amount. Players can justify it as long as they make sure they win the game...

a skilled player can so easily move their target off by a few inches and clang it up over and over...sure, if it happens for several games it becomes an issue, but any coach is going to give his guys a pass if they clang it out for one night

LOVE that terps is back on this topic
USC/UCLA game last week that greek started a post on is prime example
coach was involved in that case calling timeouts and having them foul on 3's

pretty much a question about ethics..like would most people rob a bank for money? sure if they couldnt get caught..but most people dont for the fear of getting in trouble..
