Question Should pot be legalized?

Give me your thoughts and why?

I was listening to a sports debate locally and basically the topic was how smoking pot is punished by companies and sports teams much worse than more serious crimes.

For instance - Ricky Williams (although not pot this time) has faced numerous sanctions for smoking pot. However Damion McCintosh and SEVERAL other players can be arrested for Domestic Violence and still play the following day with hardly any repricussions from the sports.

What are your thoughts?

Pot should be legalized, regulated and taxed like alcohol. While its effects may hinder a person's productivity, it is far less dangerous than booze and actually has some wonderful therapeutic effects. By making the drug available by means other than from criminals, it would greatly lessen the exposure of many otherwise law abiding citizens to the black market and consequently, many other more harmful substances.

Just my two cents. . . . .

It's a joke. It's an easy way for the Gov to take thousands of dollars every year. I've been to jail because of pot. I was caught smoking a joint and was put in jail for 3 days. Thousands of dollars later they were happy.

It's funny that alcohol is legal and pot isn't after all the deaths it causes every year. They catch you driving a car drunk and you spend a day in jail.
You're caught smoking a joint and you're in for it. I really don't care what they say I can do, I'm still going to do what I want to. No other man will tell me what I can or can't put in my body. I've been to jail it didn't change me.
It's all about money.
