Nahh mate in the long run the juice u pay outweighs the point/s u buy. Simply put the jump in juice isn't realistic to the points u buy in terms of probablity. Long term its not viable and will eat into your profits.

I only buy a half or a point when I feel it will help. I do not do it for every game or sport, for the most part in some football games I will. I know by doing this you lay the bigger number -120 -140. I feel in some cases it is good to help save the wager, there is nothing worse then taking a loss because of a half point.

always buy the hook if for nothing else than my sanity of not losin by .5 a point...whether it is long term financially the ultimate best situation? IDK, but every game that pushes because of a bought half point, makes up for 10 times that it doesnt work...so

I would never buy the pt. but a lot of people believe in it!!! If they made less money by selling the pt. they wouldn't do it!!! Just my thought!!! Knock!!!

Revy posted a +2.5 RL for the V tech v A&M softball game yesterday... Is this for real? I can't imagine a book taking this... I'd sell the farm to make a bet on this RL - softball is always a 1 run game in the WCWS...

Would it not make more sense to buy points in order to make a certain bet uneven? I use the .5 point to make an even or odd number impossible to tie. I would not buy a 1/2 point on a bet that is already not an integer.. (for ex: OVER 9.5) for this reason. If I believe the game will get to 10...then the probable "buy point" bet would be 1.0 pts for the OVER 9.5 example...again...using other handicapping methods adjacent to this style. w00t! (If i was fading this OVER...)

B4 the berrating begins...footnote:

I already know the fading of an OVER is actually an UNDER bet...just wanted to show another point-of-view to seeing an UNDER bet...instead of seeing totals as over/under...see it as over/not over.

I usually buy on or off the 3, 7 and 10 in pro football. College not so much.

The only sport worth even considering buying a half a point/point is football because of the way the scoring works.

for a 3 pt. game i would probably play the moneyline instead. the juice isn't much more and if the # is 3 there is a likelyhood of a close game(1 or 2pt. final). would suck even more to lose after buying the pt. than a push you bought the pt. for in the 1st place.

that is the perfect answer.

you feel good when you turn the occasional loss into a push, but that is more than outweighed by paying more juice for your losses, you will give it back and more over time.

If buying points over the long term actually did help you, they wouldn't allow you to do it.
