Small town parades

Live in a small town in Northern Cali and each and every year they have a parade before the local fair. All the oakies in town come out to drive their derby cars in the parade. What makes people want to be in a parade. Now I can understand if your the grand marshal or you have a real float. Everyone know each other around here and the local crackers who have no jobs have derby cars, you do the math. For the last 19 years I have walked up to a park and watched these clowns go by. I think its a good thing I get loaded with VO and hooch just so I can tolerate the idiots. Its a sad day when the tweeks get to come out and let people see them. Pathetic parade to say the least and its getting worse every year.

lmao steel
that is funny

I can relate. MY hometown is about 10,000 population and tje 4th of July parade is a hugh event. Our specialty , apparantly, is fire trucks and tractors. Every town around brings a fire truck to be in the parade , sounding their sirens, flashing their lights. Even ambulances. Tractors that can barely run or new state of the art tractors.
Not sure wtf would happen if a fire broke out.

Also, people that want to be seen somehow find some vehicle to ride in.

But ya now what ? We went every year when we lived there. It was sort of a homecoming too as a lot of classmates would come back.

No I live a lot more to the north to be exact, 50 miles north of Sacramento as a crow flys.
Tractors, lol, the local police chief lol, but like you say, each year we sit at the park and drink and watch the clowns go by. We can hardly wait to see who is hamming it up each year. Like its something to be seen in a small town parade. lol
