Society getting soft?
In the midst of all this Mangino drama I was reminded of some of my own coaching drama this season......
As a lot of you guys know I coach high school football and baseball.... I coach at the varsity level in baseball and freshman in football..... During a practice this season (I am the d coordinator), I told my middle linebacker he was being a pussy......I rode him hard all year because he was one of those typical kids that had played for his daddy all his life and he was SOFT......He went home crying to daddy and daddy went to the school, threatening to go to the school board, papers, etc. and they ended up suspending me for 1 game, which was cool. But then the dad got irrate and claimed that was not severe enough and threatened to go to the local news blah blah blah. What made the situation even worse is my pussy as head coach of the freshman team supported the dad being upset. Needless to say, I removed myself from the team cuz I wanted no part of being with the coach anymore. Coaching is a very loyal thing and he destroyed that. His bullshit move is going to cost him a job on our staff next year as well  according to my main boss (varsity head football coach).Just curious as to what you guys think. I got full support of the varsity head coach and a lot of other parents (mostly dad's) were pissed that I was punished for calling my middle linebacker a pussy. I think society has gotten a bit soft in many areas and that this was a great example.

shouldn't have used the word pussy
there are words that have been deemed inappropriate in certain environments if u would have said wussy, or "you need to toughen up," prob would have been fine

I don't think it's that big of a deal, but you probably shouldn't be calling a 14 or 15 year old kid a pussy.
