Our receptionist is taking a sociology class, she is stumped on a couple questions. Thought that I would throw em out here and hope that Skippy, Kramer or someone else might have the time...

1) Who is the father of modern Sociology? a) Karl Marx b) Confusious c) Peter Berger d) St Thomas Aquinas

2) If a colleague feels that the sexual double standard comes from our biology and has nothing to do with male dominance, he/she is most likely a: a) structural functionalist b) bio- culturalist c) sociobiologist d) cultural biologist

I'd like to know now too lol. It's just been too many years since my psychology days and too many brain cells fried. I pitched most of my old text books when I moved last summer too so that doesn't help.

It kinda reminds me of a gal I "happen to know" that once told me she was being interviewed for a Currency Exchange Agency position. There was supposed to be a couple dozen questions...

1) What is the currency in Canada? Her reply: the dollar?
2) What is the currency in the U.S.? Her reply: it's the U.S.D.
3) Do they use the USD in Mexico? Her reply: don't u know?
4) Is there another country that uses the peso? Her reply: Listen, is this a geography lesson?

End of interview after 4/24.

She got the job.

She bought a new car. Recently bought a house...and makes more than me now.

for question 1 i guess it would be karl marx...i never heard him being noted as founder of modern sociology...but from a process of elimination it can be determined it would be him from the choices given...berger is too recent of a sociologist (guy is still alive)...confusious and st. thomas are ancient...i always thought durkeim was the one of the founders of modern sociologist and auguste comte being the man that was the father of the whole discipline...but karl marx would be the answer here

as for question 2 i would say sociobiologist
