something i've wanted to ask about Units/STARS
If someone posts a play as a 40* play does that mean they're betting 40 units? I just don't understand what a 40* play means. Also, isn't a unit supposed to be a percentage of your bankroll, like 5 or 10 percent so you keep a steady bet rate? I don't know how someone could bet 40 units on one game.
If anyone has insight to some of the * or ridiculously high unit plays and what they mean I'd appreciate it. Thanks |

some people like to post bigger units but it does not mean they are playing more money.
my picks are 1 unit = $100 |

if people are posting units, they prolly never mean a percentage...most people generically understand 1 unit = 100$ , but it can obviously differ from people to people. Some touts for instance have 50 dime plays (which would be 50,000$ and that is all "monopoly" money LOL...so who knows If u are going to tail a person purely, my recomendation would be to take whatever there units are risking on a game and apply it to urs.... for instance on a 40 unit play say ur units are 100$ but u never risk more than 500$ , then my suggestion would be to see what the other size plays are they have...if the avg is 10 units , then that i sprolly "your interpretation" of 100$ to win. so for 40 units it would be 400$.. all and all its a guessing game, and i would recommend watching someone for a long period of time before jus tailing blindly, ESPECIALLY if its a tout in the service section, as ALL bettors (95%+) go on Hot streaks and Cold streaks and go 50% + - 3-5% over time, and u will be buried in the long run when CHASING (so that is biggest no no) or folowing when a guy is on a roll (because they could be up 20 games above .500 , then lose 10 in a row right when u hop on...and they are still 10 games up and u in the water in a cement block (thats why it is gambling) ....jus use ur own version of sound money managment and u should be fine. I appreciate all the responses. I understand the concept of unit betting, but thanks for the advice stash and others<---not sarcastic
I just don't understand why someone would say they have a 30 unit play. But yeah, everyone goes on a hot streak every now and then. I'd rather just follow someone who consistently wins on a weekly basis, even if it's only +1 unit a week. I don't gamble for an income, I just do it because it's an enjoyable thing to do. It definitely makes watching some games more interesting. Thanks for the responses everyone. |

I'll never get why some people have a 10 unit play and a 1 or 2 unit play on the same day. Why not just play the 10 unit one?
