Ok then, and this is a little embarrasing on a gamblers forum BUT I used them because I was just "dipping a toe" in the whole thing and I could open an account with just 20 bucks and can bet as little as a buck at a time. While I AM increasing a bit I still don't make big bets. I wind up making 3,4,5 smaller bets. I like having a variety of them working. Most of the other books I've seen have minimun bets of 10 dollars or more. I really can't afford to have 30-50 dollars a day to play with. Trust me, the ex-wife and kids would not approve of a losing day or two with that much at risk. Am I doing this wrong?

No, not at all. I actually prefer the smaller bets per night myself. I usually limit myself to a couple of diff. bets a night, risking no more than $200-$250 a night. Granted thats a lot, but its alot less than when i used to risk $1000-$1500/ per bet a night. Talk about ulcers and nail biting nights, it just wasnt worth the agony. You cant enjoy life, because your always flipping back to ESPNNEWs, or checking the net, or checking your wireless devices for updated scores.......So keep it simple and keep it fun.........

I wrote SIA and here is what they had to say....or didn't.
Hi James, Thanks for writing us. I apologize for the inconveniences as we do not reply to any commentary or questions posted on forums. for Baseball we run a 15 cent line and adjust the lines pending the action we take. Regards Donald SIA I think there full of shit I've seen as much as 30 and 40 cents difference from other books. But, let me say this....I am a small player myself and do this for a hobby. I've been scamed by the best scamdicappers (learnt from my mistakes) and I've had awesome hot streaks. I've seen it all. I do like thei small wager amounts and their ease of depositing money right from my checking account (swiftpay)....just don't like their lines. But in football....I like their lines because their dogs usually have and extra 1/2 point than most books.....I guess just what a person likes. See Ya, GrandSlam |

For a company that has a reputation for not answering emails, they just answered your pretty quick. Something rubbed them the wrong way. I imagine if you were a big dog player it would be good to book at SIA. Good things and bad things about a lot of books.

OK guys here is a perfect example. At most books, NFL week 1 has the Ravens -1 over the Panthers. But...as SIA...they have the Ravens -3.....so you mean to tell me that with still 2 months before kickoff that sia has took so much money on the ravens that they had to move the line 2 full points.....Yea Right. Well, I guess it's good for those panther bettors.

Grandslam,
I will also write them asking them this question. Let's see if we can get an answer again about this. I would think that a player could be smart and use SIA along with another book and hit some "middles" in football. Dr. Jack |

You would think so...a lot of games are decided by that 1 or 2 point margin. Let me know what they say to you as well.

Response from Sports Interaction
Dear Dr Jack,
Thanks for the mail and the link to that lively discussion that you have going on there. As Donald said in the mail that you've posted, we don't generally post to forums but I'll try and clear up a few things for you if I may. There seems to be some debate about our lines, and whether or not you get value for money. This arises as different sportsbooks have different lines on different events, and the industry as a whole tries to allow for a multiplicity of service. It seems a good thing to me that players can shop around for different prices with different books, as it'd be like Soviet Russia if all books stuck rigidly to a party line (so to speak). As for not offering value on favorites, surely the opposite is true - that we offer tremendous value on underdogs. We had very few complaints from our players that picked the Patriots at +14 in the Superbowl for instance. It all depends on what you're looking for. As for the UT-Longhorn and his difficulty in claiming his winnings, Sports Interaction's official policy is to process withdrawl requests within 24 hours of them being made. It is not Sports Interaction's policy to either throw fits, or try to prevent players from making withdrawals. Perhaps if UT-Longhorn can send a mail to support@sportsinteraction.com and mark it Attn: Anthony I'll see what I can dig up about his difficulty. Hope this clears up a few things for you, and best wishes to all at cappersmall.com, Best regards, Anthony Munnelly.

Ok, I guess they have a point. I've never complained about the lines they post on underdogs. I'm impressed also with their statement about using multiple books to get the best price and not just blindly defending how they price their bets. Sounds pretty honest to me and I haven't had any problems up to now.

They seem to answer these emails a lot quicker than an account with a problem. Maybe it was a bad day?

Grandslam and others,
There is no problem with their lines. I'm not a promoter for Sports Interaction, but I love their lines. They are excellent for betting on the dogs. To be a successful gambler, ya need to have 3-4 books. SIA is the most unique one I've found, and I use them to my advantage big time. Now, I don't bet favorites on their site, obviously, because their lines aren't favorable for that. But their lines are very different from other sites and that's outstanding, if you know how to use it. In fact, if anyone knows any other books similar to this, I'd like to know. Have been lookin for one for a while. Thanks and good luck to all. Last edited by tbizzybone; 07-03-2002 at 03:49 PM. |

I agree that this is an awesome book for the dog player...it's just that I suck at dogs and thats why I prefer other books for favs. Now for football, I play a lot of dogs, and then they get a lot of my business. For a sucessful dog player, I would recomend SIA highly to them.....the bottom line is makin money, and they offer an excellent dog value.....Peace bros..!
