Here in Louisville we caught most of the same storm, went from nothing to 70 mph wind gusts in seconds. Ripped a large shutter off the front of my house, and the neighborhood lost a lot of shingles. 120,000 people without power and over 1,000 power lines down, all from a storm that lasted about 30 minutes.

No lives lost here thankfully, what a terrible way to go.
