This Story is so Damn Tiring- Enough Already

Michelle Wie to return to PGA Tour event

May 22, 2007

EAST MOLINE, Ill. (AP) -- Michelle Wie accepted a sponsor's exemption Tuesday to play in the John Deere Classic for the third straight year, continuing her effort to make the cut in a men's event.

Wie, who is to graduate from high school next week, has not made the cut in six starts on the PGA Tour. A year ago at the John Deere Classic, she opened with a 77 and withdrew in the middle of the second round with heat exhaustion.

The John Deere Classic will be played July 12-15 at TPC Deere Run.

"She is a wonderful talent who attracts a tremendous amount of interest among traditional and nontraditional golf fans, which helps broaden the game's appeal, especially among young people," tournament director Clair Peterson said.

Wie has not played since missing the cut by 14 shots at the Sony Open in January. She played that week with an injured right wrist, then injured her left wrist a short time later when she fell while running.

She is to play her first LPGA Tour event of the year next week at the Ginn Tribute in South Carolina.

Skepticism about Wie's scheduling increased late last year when she finished last in consecutive weeks on the European Tour and the PGA Tour, and was next to last at the Casio World Open in Japan. She has failed to break 70 in her last 16 rounds, including two LPGA Tour events.

The John Deere Classic is where she had her best chance to make the cut on the PGA Tour. Two years ago, she was one shot above the cut line until making a double bogey on her 15th hole and a bogey on the 16th to miss the cut by two shots.

"I am really happy to be returning to the John Deere Classic," Wie said. "The people of the Quad Cities have supported me and rooted for me like no other."

Damn learn to win on the womans tour first and then start this crap back up again. I am so tired of hearing about Michelle Wie

Totally agree here!
its sad cuz that girl really has talent, but i blame the parents on that one from the min she decide to take the money and be a freakshow in golf (which in the end will put a stain on her rep as far as the sport of golf is concerned). She was attending the best school in hawaii, she had the talent equivalent to tiger woods at that age but her parents went for the money now rather than wait till she was matured and done w/ school (which is what tiger woods did). that is why tiger is the best hands down, his path to greatness was done the right way and the money still came eventually but he didnt have to make an ass out of himself in order to get to that point. wie is just young and not matured yet but eventually she will get her spot among the many in the lpga, but she wont be the dominating figure in her sport like tiger woods will be remembered for due to the choices that she made (or made for her).
now that was my stance from day one and being from hawaii alot of ppl chastized me for it. but now after time has past those w/ harsh tounges are silent and i seem to have been right all along.
we got another kid Thad who was alot of talent and speaking to him at moanalua HS, he seems to be a really humble japanese boy. I just hope he learned from wie's mistakes and his parents dont sellout for the fast cash either.

she needs to go back to school and finish college. then she will be ready for the harsh reality of pro sports world. she will then be matured enough to handle it at that point.
my next prediction on the wie saga gonna be that if and when she doesnt achieve the status she expected in golf, she will at some point blame her parents (to some degree) for the choices they made for her.
will wie win? yah eventually but not right now, she needs to grow a lil more however dont be surprised if she has a good showing at one time or another in the near future. afterall the kid does have talent and as we all know the sun does shine on a dogs butt sometime. but it wont be a consistant thing untill she is older and matured.

I hammered her to miss the cut in her first couple of outings on the PGA tour. Get this first time up she was -130.
Bookmakers no longer offer the option because it would be -5000

I wish she would just piss off
