Strikes & Lockouts in sports

What do you see happening with sports & salaries?

You have NFL facing possible lockout in 2011

You have NBA talking about wanting to rollback salaries

Can the powers of the NFL actually let this happen? Obviously NFL is stronger than MLB or NHL but a lockout will be devastating to NFL

Can these sports actually make MLB look like they know what they doing.

What happens from here & what's your thoughts on lockout, strikes in sports?

there will be no lockout.....unless you think the brilliant players of the NFL have been saving up their money and wont break and force the union to cave when that first paycheck isnt in the mail......

I tend to think they may not be investing that much......

Deal will get done... NFL life expectancy is "Not For Long" and a lot of these guys don't have garanteed contracts... I might have a slightly dif tune if they did, but not much...

Not sure about NBA... don't really care either...

I think NBA can't afford to have a lockout especially given they just had one recently. Personally the NBA owners need to address the gtd contract issue which I believe it is what kills a lot of the teams. Get a crappy GM in there with an owner willing to spend can ruin a team for years.

NFL will get done somehow without a lockout. I think both sides realize they are number 1 sport around and won't risk that.

These owners are the greediest bastards around. Just give the players their fair shake and all is well.

All pro athletes in general get a % of total revenue and thats where the cap is derived from.....just lower the new draft picks take and give that to some of the vets and all is well.....its bad enough they dont have guarunteed money.

For as much as the NFL brings in their players have the worst deal of the 4 major sports. Obviously baseball players have it made.

PEACE

Nothing like listening to super rich athletes 99% of which offer nothing but their sports ability argue with even richer owners over how to fleece the fans and who gets what.

NBA owners might have to lock out or they will attenuate their feduciary claims, the players currently have rights to 57% of league revenue, which is absurd, much higher than any other enterprise appertaining to the employees

The majority of teams losing money is a lucid state of affairs, and with the impending free agency of Lebron James, the standard for big-time contracts is only going to get higher and the owners don't have the means to support another spike in salary considerations
