Think it was a power move.
For example:
Boss: Good Work Tom
Todd:Thank you but my name is Todd.
Boss: You can leave now Tom

Definitely a case where little-dicked Stern tries to soak up the spotlight. He knows damn well it's NoVitzki.

He is David Stern, the count, the controller of the league. Do you think he really cares how he pronounces names? In my opinion, he surely didn't seem like he wanted to be there, didn't look all that interested to me.

Yeah, I thought Stern kinda dissed the Mavs too in his presentation schtick. Don't remember his exact words but it seemed like it was "any team can get luck" kinda attitude.

Crazy thought here but do you think its possible that it's some kind of racist thing? I'm pretty sure Stern is an American Jew and I know Nowitzki is German. I can't say I know the exact pronunciation either but if I'm the commisioner of one of the richest sports leagues on the planet I think I would want to make sure of the pronunciation of the Series MVP and someone that I think he should try to be a major face of the NBA.

Maybe it's something, maybe it's nothing but either way it makes you wonder...

Just kind of rambling here but continuing that last post if you're David Stern don't you think it's a good idea to ride Nowitzki's coattails as far as the marketing goes? You now have a classy player. who is white, possesses an NBA Championship and Finals MVP, who also happens to be from Europe.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the NBA starts talking about a franchise in Europe (and they may have even started). You're average white American now has somebody they can kind relate to much the same way people did with Bird.

Just seems like with Stern's blase attitude he's really missing something here...

It's "No-Vit-Ski"
