Meteorological summer are the three months considered by meteorologists to be the summer months: June, July, and August. It begins June 1st. Solar summer is the 90 day period that the amount of solar radiation is at its peak. That runs from the first week in May to the first week in August. June 21st is actually the midpoint of solar summer.
