Question Super Bowl bye week

Hate it or Like it?

Can't stand waiting two weeks. I say forget the bye & keep momentum going.

Are there any positives about waiting two weeks except maybe healing up?

I think healing up and then gameplanning. Giving each side 2 weeks to prepare their teams makes it interesting in terms of seeing what they come up with

HOw many wrinkles do you see where you say wow they needed two weeks to come up with that?

It's the NFL. Theyve played for 20 weeks. They know their strengths & weaknesses. Just play the game.

Don't you think a bye week could take a team out of their rhythm?

Yea it could...but it also works out for both teams. Getting Rodgers and Pouncey/Troy P an extra week of rest. The gameplanning doesnt necessarily show up in certain plays but 2 weeks to focus on just one opponent makes it interesting to me. It's the reason why in the regular season it's so tough to beat teams coming off bye weeks. Extra days of film study and prep make for tighter execution and better chance of success

I hate waiting two weeks for the game, but I guess for the players it helps them relax and rest up. If anything at least we get the Pro Bowl in between although thats nothing really to ever watch

With all the Media BS, would be tough to get the needed practice/gameplan in if it was this week. I agree though, wish it was this week

i dont mind it terms of injuries. it gets most of the guys with tiny injuries(they probably all play with them) to heal up more so you gets guys at 100%. that is the only benefit of having that extra week.

sunday you got the nhl all-star game and the pro bowl. sucks but its something and you still get the super bowl a week after.

I like it... means the game is in February (i.e. not at the end of the month Jan. - I'm a bean counter)... If they didn't skip a week, I'd have to take it easy on Super Bowl Sunday... and I damn sure couldn't call in sick or take a vacation day...

I got used to it in time.

I think parties--private or sports bar are much better prepared with the bye--offering the max.

I agree with Dr. Jack that a bye week could take a team out or rhythm, not sure if it has in the NFL/Superbowl but I sure know it killed the Rockies when they had a huge amount of time before they played Boston in the World Series.
