"Super Keno/Progressive Keno" scam in Dominican Republic casinos

Found this while cruising around the web, almost funny that these Casinos have been praying on tourists like this for about a decade. Basically it is a Keno-like game where your bets and the "jackpot" build progressively. The nieve leave the game with no money and all of their credit cards maxed out.

Wow, you just brought up some bad memories.. My wife and I along with another couple went to the Dominican about 3 yrs ago. The hotel next to ours had a casino in it. We went there one night, played BJ and Craps and tried out this "Keno" gm. I put my $10 up there and the prize was $150. I pulled 3 freakin balls and the third ball was "100", instantly won. I was like holy chit, this is easy. I asked to play again and they said you can only play once each night... I was thinking, what the ****, must be a gm the house doesnt have a very good edge on if they only let you play once a night. So we all left and said we would be back the next night. We arrived and my buddy went at it first, the plan was for him to play and then i was gonna play. Long story short, my buddy taps out at about $2400 in the hole, runs out of $$$, my stupid ass takes over for him at this point in the gm and i drop another $1500. I finally quit when the cost to pull a ball worked up to be over $1200/pull. We had 92pts when i quit, (needed 100). Our prize we would have won at the time we quit was $52,000 (US). We were all sick about losing that money for the next 2 days. Ughh, that ****in sucked. Thanks for the article. I knew that POS gm was a ****in hoax

Sorry to hear they got you RHenry. I was looking at info on visiting and getting residency in DR so of course I had to look up the casinos there and stumbled accross this. Did the other table games seem legit? They use clear (transparent) dice on the crap table?

Yes they did seem legit. Also, when i played this keno game, i would pull the ball and he would show me the ball in aticipation 1st!.. I had the first look at it, not him. So it wasnt covering numbres or anything like that.. Not quite sure how they ****ed me, but im sure i was.
