TAB review April 20
Last week we highlighted some of the losses incurred by our bigger punters, and judging by the reduced "large bets" this week they must have either (a) run out of funds or (b) gone into temporary hibernation.
The week's biggest bet was an $80,000 wager at a lay price of $1.40 on the Brumbies to beat the Hurricanes and it was a loser. Let's stick with the losing bets for a moment: $20,000 at $2.20 on Faint Perfume to win the AJC Oaks, $20,000 at $3.00 on Typhoon Tracy to win the Doncaster, $14,000 at $1.7 on the Chiefs getting an 11 and a half point start from the Stormers, $10,000 at $1.50 on the Chicago Cubs to beat the Milwaukee Bewers, $10,000 at $3.20 on Toms Oscar to win the Couplands 1200, $10,000 at $1.50 on the Melbourne Storm to beat Manly and $9,700 at $3.30 on Ortensia to win the Galaxy. The biggest winner over the past week was the $20,000 at $1.42 on the NY Yankees beating Texas. Also in baseball there was $15,000 at $1.70 on the LA Dodgers beating Arizona.Other winning bets all for $10,000 were as follows : $1.42 on St Louis to beat Houston, at $4.60 on Pennacchio to win the VRC Trophy 1200, at $1.60 on the Hurricanes to beat the Brumbies, at $1.07 on the Parramatta Eels to beat Souths, at $1.45 on the Manly Sea Eagles to beat the Storm.
