Target Field tops best stadium experience in ESPN story

Minny 2 of the top 3

MINNEAPOLIS - Target Field is the No. 1 stadium experience in North American professional sports, according to the 8th annual Ultimate Sports Standings published earlier this week in ESPN: The Magazine.

”It’s quite a statement considering we ranked 114th when playing at the Metrodome a year ago,” Minnesota Twins spokesman Kevin Smith said.

The rankings sort all 122 MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL franchises in a variety of areas including Stadium Experience, Ownership, Coaching, Fan Relations, Players and Affordability.

The Top 10 Stadium Experiences in American Sport according to the survey are as follows:

1. Minnesota Twins – Target Field
2. Green Bay Packers – Lambeau Field
3. Minnesota Wild – Xcel Energy Center
4. Seattle Mariners – Safeco Field
5. Philadelphia Phillies -- Citizen’s Bank Park
6. Milwaukee Brewers – Miller Park
7. San Francisco Giants – AT&T Park
8. Indianapolis Colts – Lucas Oil Stadium
9. Pittsburgh Pirates – PNC Park
10.St.Louis Cardinals – Busch Stadium

Morneau and Mauer would not agree with this.

That stadium is gonna cost them some serious HR's.

Ball does not fly like the old field.

They should of made it a retracktable roof. Why did'nt they? Anyone know?

purely a money issue. was all about getting it passed and wanted to make it as affordable as possible. pohlads had no interest in adding the extra funds for the roof.

stadium definately affecting some of the hr numbers. everyone keeps claiming when it warms up the ball will leave the yard more just not seeing it yet.
