Why is it that the same 5 professionals poker players are at the top every year? Luck, because its "easy", i doubt it.

I used to believe ALL poker games were about 90% skill and 10% luck but i have played enough and have had crazy enough beats to realize that its about 60-40 the better player will always win if u play long enough but the luck is what keeps them coming back.

I think that playing 7 stud is much more difficult than hold 'em. With hold 'em, you can eliminate the chance of anyone holding a straight or a flush after the turn. In stud, you have to judge every remaining hand on it's values, not just what a flop shows. How many times do you see hands won or lost on the river, when someone had no business being in the hand? It does not happen very often in stud, because it is much more difficult to judge what you are up against. When you talk about the "Worlds Greatest Players" you should remember that these guys and gals have to play year round to get there. Ask any person who makes a living at playing poker, and you will see that the televised tourneys are just a show. It's the private high stakes game that wins the real money. Play in a 1K-5K stud game, or dealers choice, no wild cards, and see how difficult poker can become. If, as one person said, the brekdown for hold 'em is 80% skill, 20% luck, there is way too much luck involved. 90-10 is the breakdown I would accept. There are just too many computer geeks that luck out and get into some of these toruneys. Give them to me in a stud game, with a limit, and I will gladly play.
