The end of June/July are horrible for sports. I hate this time of the year.

Is there a worse time for sports?

I believe the two days a year that there are no sports... day before and day after Baseball allstar game... but as you mentioned... they are in July... lol So, July would have to be the worst... I just spend more time outdoors.

Notice only a slight difference here, as down under there are plenty of sports rocking and rolling....NRL, AFL, rugby, cricket.

But yeah I can totally understand for many US people its pretty quiet right now.

HR Derby, All-star game, one of the best weekends of the year IMO

Correction, I am a fan of NFL and college football.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the CFL but the bottom line is July is like torture for the most part for the bigger US sports
