Don't you think all sports could use a little improvement? What rules would you like to see made in each sport?
Here are mine for Football:

a) Field Goals
The closer you are, the more they are worth:
8-30 yds = 3pts
30-45 yds = 2pts
45-60yds = 1pt
>60yds = forget it - if you pussies can't penetrate the defense any further than the 43 yard line, you might as well punt or go for it.

b) Spike rule
Sure it makes for entertaining last minute drives. But it sucks for the defense. This is INTENTIONAL GROUNDING plain and simple. Okay, stop the clock, but penalize the f*ckers the 10 yards for commiting the penalty.
Oh yeah, and speaking of Intentional Grounding, no more "out of the tackle box" bullshit: Run, Throw, or Eat the ball.

c) Punting
The XFL got this one right. ANYBODY has the right to the ball. Get your girly arm out of the air calling for a "fair catch" - HIT SOMEBODY!!

Basketball:

1) Raise the rim to 10.5 feet
2) Lengthen the 3 point line (especially in college)
3) Unlimited fouls - I heard a some commentator say this last week; I like it.
4) Each team gets 1 full and 1 20 second time out per half. That's it. These games are taking too long to complete.

Hockey:

Bring the Shootout to the playoffs - I love the Shootout.
Maybe not for the Stanley Cup.

Otherwise, this sport is perfect.

Baseball.

You know what I don't like about baseball? - The Defense can't score. That sucks. In almost every other sport, the defense can score - or at least the defense can immediately become the offense by forcing a turnover.

Now, I can't figure out a way for the defense to score, but I just don't like this "taking turns" bullshit.

How about in hockey a short handed goal is worth 1.5?
Short handed by 2 men is worth 2?
You'd see some pretty interesting intentional penalties.

And let them fight more like in the 70's and 80's!!!

I think field goals should be worth more, the further you are... since its more difficult to make them... nobody would kick in the 45 + yard line if its online gonna be worth 1 pt...

I see your point, but you are rewarding the offense for not doing their job - penetrating the defense.
The defense did their job - they stopped you well short of the goal line. Why should they be penalized by some idiot kicker?

OVERTIME:

Sudden Death doesn't work. Its too dependant on a coin toss.

How about this: You have to win by 6 in OT. That would force more TDs. You can kick if you want, but you'll then have to stop the other team and go kick again - assuming you stopped them.

Any chance that alcoholic beverages have been consumed while you were thinking of these changes or writing this? I'm just kidding....I think there should be some changes, but at this time I am not thinking of them. I do however agree with the change on the shoot out in hockey. It's funny that you bring this up because my ex girlfriend would constantly mmake comments about the things that she didn't think was right. Most would completely change the game..........

And I honestly believe in my ideas.

Actually, I have a better idea for the short handed goal. If you score short handed - penalty over. Two men down, you get one back. Half goals would just be weird.
