For those that sports bet and play the fantasy sports contests.....

Which do you prefer and why? I've never got into fantasy sport myself.

50/50 for me , although I tend to enjoy fantasy football more then betting it, and with baseball i enjoy betting a little more than fantasy.

I prefer to play in local leagues with friends. Football is by far the easiest to get guys to put up a few hundred dollars to play in. Any given year, I am able to have 3 or 4 12 team NFL leagues with entry fees around $300. Fantasy Football is where the "action" is. It's like a loose table in a poker room.

I also play Hoops and Bases, but we are only able to fill 1 12 team league in each. Only the dedicated fantasy managers, with tougher competition. It's like a table full of regulars in a poker room. Tougher to make a dime, but still acceptable to pass the time with a chance to cash.

Baseball would be my personal favorite. Obsessing over WHIP and ERA, is there a better way to spend a summer? By the time you look up from your statistics, it's football season baby!

I have found that gambling on sides and fantasy are not compatible for me. Fantasy requires that you learn about individual players and focus on their individual performances, while capping sides in a game requires an overall view of a team.

I found when i did fantasy sports that it hurt my ability to see a team instead of individuals. That is why i don't do fantasy or participate in many contests
