Only No Country for old men would crack my top 10 and it would be number 1.

2 or 3 would be on my worst list.

Traffic is a terrible movie and The Departed is one of the most overrated movies of all time only saved only by Wahlberg's performance. Crash was voted the worst "best picture: of all time. History of violence is silly.

Dark Knight is a good movie.

In no particular order since these films cover a wide range of genres...

These were films that I enjoyed immensely, and as you'll see from the list some might not even make anothers top 100 of the decade. But these are ones that I could watch again and again and always find something to really admire...

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Almost Famous
Star Trek (reboot)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
(500) Days of Summer
Inglourious Basterds
Road to Perdition
High Fidelity
Crash

Much to admire here. The Departed was wildly entertaining, but overall it lacked that little bit of punch to not make my list.

Dark Knight as well...thought was overrated and found Inception to be a better made film by Christopher Nolan.

Mystic River had an uneasy edge to it, although the performances elicited by Clint Eastwood were amazing. A very well made film.

500 Days of Summer and Crash made my list...the former because it brought back some emotions and feelings I hadn't felt in a long time and made me wistful for my youth and the latter because although, on hindsight, it was an emotionally manipulative and contrived piece of work from Paul Haggis, it was VERY effective at sledgehammering the point home about race relations in America.

I'll admit I'm an easily entertained fellow, so there are a lot of movies I like that most didn't at all. To each their own. Here is my list.

#10 - The Prestige (2006)
Jackman & Bale were great in this opposite each other. I really liked the story and setting in it. Why it isn't higher on my list is basically just because I am a victim to comedy, so there will be some jokey titles higher. But all the same, this was a great movie.

#9 - Lord of the Rings (2001-2003)
I don't care how anyone feels about LOTR, I absolutely loved the movies. I saw them all in the theatre multiple times, have watched the extended versions multiple times, wish they would make even more extended versions, and can't wait for The Hobbit. The whole thing was well done.

#8 - Shrek (2001)
People may argue this point, but I feel this classic deserves to be on this list. Not only was it funny for both kids & adults, it spawned 3 more movies that people were more excited to see because of this one. Mike Myers & Eddie Murphy had me laughing throughout the movie, and I do love to laugh.

#7 - Supertroopers (2001)
It took me awhile to finally see this movie, and my friend was getting on my case every day for like 3 years I swear lol So he did the smart thing: bought it for me for Christmas. Well, needless to say I'm happy he did. This movie has had me laughing everytime I watch it. Whether it's the kids being pulled over at the beginning, the bulletproof jock, the syrup drinking, or just the shenanigans overall (and yes, the scene involving the word "shenanigans"), this movie makes my list without hesitation.

#6 - Snatch (2000)
I enjoy a Brad Pitt movie as much as the next guy, but this movie was hilarious. The Pikey is hard as **** to understand, the constant banter between Turkish & Tommy is awesome, and the cast of characters...well, Guy Ritchie did a brilliant job with this movie. It's the guns, the laughs, and the action that make this a perfect addition to my list.
Turkish: You take sugar?
Brick Top: No thank you, Turkish. I'm sweet enough.

#5 - Old School (2003)
What makes a comedy great, in my opinion, is the re-watch value. My friends & I went to see this 4 times the first week it was released at the theater, so for us, it definitely has that value. The movie overall was great, and there are always quotes from it that come up for me almost on a daily basis. Also, thanks to this movie, never again will I enjoy Simon & Garfunkel's classic [i]Sound of Silence[/b] without remembering that pool scene, and laughing.

#4 - Gangs of New York (2002)
Saw this in the theater as well, and I couldn't believe how fantastic it was. Daniel Day Lewis played the perfect likable villain, and DiCaprio's vengeful hero was just as good as it gets. Yes, I'm biased because I'm a huge DiCaprio fan. This was one of his best performances, and it was made so because of acting opposite a star like Lewis.

#3 - Donnie Darko (2001)
If this isn't the movie that just truly defines Jake Gyllenhaal's career, I don't know what would be. The story was fantastic, the soundtrack was perfectly selected, and this movie just had my mind whizzing for weeks after...which is why I've probably watched it 50+ times now.

#2 - The Dark Knight (2008)
Heath Ledger's "Joker" may go down as one of the creepiest villains ever put on screen. He absolutely stole the show in this movie, and his tragic demise shortly after its release forever robbed the world of a beautiful young acting talent finally realizing his potential. Aside from Ledger's performance, this Batman movie was excellent just like Batman Begins: dark & violent, the way the graphic novels intended them to be.

#1 - The Pianist (2002)
As much as I love my comedies, movies that can evoke emotion from me always leave a lasting effect with me. Adrien Brody's portrayal of that Polish pianist will forever remain with me. This movie was beautifully done. In fact, this movie was just beautiful. There's no other way to put it. If you haven't given yourself the pleasure of watching this movie, make time to do so. It's long, but worth every second of filming.
