Question travelling to Anaheim at x-mas for Hockey tourney

Hi guys and gals ,
we are travelling to Anaheim for my sons hockey tourny from the 26th of Dec til Jan 4th.

My family has never been to the west coast before.

Need to know what to do with my 3 kids (4,6,10 yrs old). to keep them happy for 10 days.

Thoughts?
Is Disneyland pretty much the same as disneyworld in Florida?
Are there any cheap flights to vegas from LAX or is it easier to drive?
How far is The San diego Zoo from Anaheim? Is it worth it?
Any other sight seeing spots I should not miss.

any info appreciated.

Tahnsk

Klaz, We have the San Diego Zoo right here is many of rjb Charger threads

I have never been to Disney Land and don't think it compares to Disney World although for kids, if they have never been there - I am sure it is quite the experience.

I am sure the Cali's will add more

GL to your son at the hockey tourney

The San Diego Zoo is about a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Anaheim. Depends on the traffic though. I would check out Sea World if your down in San Diego also which was my favorite as a kid. Las Vegas is about a 4 hour drive from LA which isn't bad at all. Disneyland is pretty similar to Disneyworld but I would give the knod for the latter. Make sure you go during the weekday to avoid horrible lines. If you get down to the SD Zoo make sure you visit Balboa Park and the train museum. The water will be cold, but take a look at the beaches.

The beaches are great...
Vegas is around a 5 hour drive ... Kids love vegas.
SD is around about a 1.5 hour drive.... Seaworld, RJB's house and more beach.

Have a great trip.... go hawks

disneyland is nothing like disney world. much smaller and it's just rides, the kids would like it though.

southwest airlines is probably the cheapest flight LAX to LAS. it's about a 4-5 hr drive. the drive out there kinda sucks, i'd fly. but with a family of 5 it would be cheaper to drive.

SD is about 1.5 hrs from Anaheim. it's the best zoo in the US. the kids would love it. also in SD is the Wild Animal Park. The animals aren't in cages like in the zoo. could also take them to sea world. and in SD there's lego land. lots of shit for the kids in SD.
