Heading to Turkey for work in a few days...
i've been reading about Istanbul and getting mix reviews

Anyone been? recommendations? food, drink? night life?

have never been, but know many that have...haven't heard any real bad things about there...too bad it isn't in august...fiba world championships begin next month in turkey

you should have a blast, very americanized for the muslim world

theres actually more roman ruins in turkey than there are in italy

I keep reading the turks are crooks... but it's coming from US citizens on web sites do i'm taking it with a grain of salt.

I'm flying with a set of seats from shea stadium for my job... just getting them into the country has been unbelievably hard...$$$$

I dont know if its as abundant as say in lebanon, and I wouldnt try and score on my own on the street

but if youre doing business there, and meet a few like minded either americans who live there or locals who seem cool, id give it a shot

is it going to be an extended stay?

my family from Ireland goes there 2 weeks every year and they have never said one bad thing about it. U should have fun enjoy it

two weeks of work... then if nothing work wise comes up i'm going to travel around with my chick for a few weeks.... maybe hit greece while the greek economy is taking the gas pipe.
