TV"S. Projector, LCD or what?

Renovating my basement and my contractor is telling me I should have a projector TV down there.
Not sure about the pros and cons.
He says can get a picture up to 9-10 ' wide and pretty good colors and clearness. any thoughts? Makes , models, ones to stay away from.
