The US Government already is cracking down on all internet betting establishments

... by making impossible to access anything related to betting from public places.

Today I had problems placing bets at BetUs, so I was thinking maybe the problem is with my Internet connection.

So I went to a Public Library because that is only 10 mins from my place.
Now I was there once about 2 months ago, when my internet service was down for a day. I had no problems placing bets.

Today I had a "nice" surprise:
After imputting the Betus web-site a warning site came on: "you can not access from here gambling related sites".

After that I tried to access "cappersmall". Guess what: the same fing thing!!!

And this may happen in all hot spots (hotels, airports, inside airplanes etc,) so if you have your laptop with you you can throw it away) Have somebody some recent info about this???

Thank you a lot US Government!
This is the land of the free?

I can go here in NJ to a racetrack or a land casino, or simply spend on the lottery everything I have, and after that beg on the street because I haven't had left even money to buy bread with it, but I can not bet on the Internet?
Give me a fing break!!!!!

How far will go all this unbelievable fing BS about the online gambling related to US citizens?

Seriously, if this will go all the way, I move to Canada or the UK.
This is not a joke!

I can not stand institutionalized idiotic BS, because I was born in a communist country at that time, and I had enough restrictions to deal with.

PS:
Now I'm not even sure that I have the problems with Betus only because my internet provider put is some BS firewalls against betting sites.

Sorry if I hurt any US patriotic feeligns here, but I am terribly angry right now, and true things have to be said!

2 months ago in NJ they were not blocked!
But how in the world can they block even something like "cappersmall"?

I guess their criteria is to block any site which is not even a book, but has any kind of advertisement about some book on it...

Les,

I am not sure exactly and actually now that you mention it I do know people have accessed Cappers Mall from a library in the past

My guess is they look for some keywords on site and flag it for gambling. Interesting I may try and get to the library and check it out.

I know here in the Great White North(specifically the Toronto area) some public libraries allow you access to gambling sites and others don't. But its not just gambling sites(or places like cappersmall) they also block access to general chat forums. A buddy of mine is General Manager at a big library here in the area and he says he doesn't block websites but does have the option to if he feels like it is going to be a problem, but he said alot of his counterparts feel by blocking these type of sites they are doing the general public a favor by not aiding in their betting, or not to allow perverts the ability to access chat forums when it comes to younger kids.

Jack this happens at alot of businesses as well that block certain sites including the Mall. Remember when I first got here I was talking to you about maybe setting up a backdoor route into the mall that wouldn't get caught by the screening of gambling websites.

It is going to become more and more difficult to access gambling websites from public places. There is really not a lot we can do about it. Just hope that this does not go too much further.
