Vegas Question?

I'm heading down to Vegas next week and am going to be staying at Caesars Palace, it's my first time going there and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. Is there a Specific Sportsbook that is better than others(i.e, selection, atmosphere, lines)? Also any good eats down there, hidden gems? How do the sportsbooks work in terms of placing a bet, form?
Thanks, Tribal

If you have never been before.... Caesars is a good place to stay. You are right in the middle of the strip and they have a good book. As far as betting... No secrets. I think all Vegas books do not charge for drinks anymore as long as you sit in the sportsbook. If they do make sure you ask for drink tickets when you place a bet.

Hoosiercatdaddy can update you on all the dive and tranny bars if that intrest you.

Have fun!!

We stayed at the Rio for the Cappersmall Conv. Caesars and Rio are owned by the same company. I dont think they charge.

I stayed at the Venetian last time and I had zero complaints.....sportsbook was great and they gave me as many drink tix as I wanted and I was a 50 buck a game bettor. ( I was betting 5-6 at a time though)

As far as food goes I had a great dinner at Lavos (connected to the Venetian) and if you like Sushi I had an awesome lunch at Todai sushi buffet connected to the Planet Hollywood.

I went with my wife and still came back tired as heck....Vegas is great but far from relaxing.

Venetian will serve you Grey Goose or top shelf drinks non-stop if you ask while you are playing the tables............remem to tip

And I highly advise Battista's Hole In the Wall (ital) for grub (behind Flamingo), and In and Out Burgs

Lavos had some great apps, got kicked out both Harrahs and Casino Royal in back to back nights, so be weary it happens......

Make sure you stop by the Mermaid downtown. Wildcat's girlfriend works there and she'll hook you up with some football beers.

Tribal if you like to bet horses the Mirage is one of the best horseracing books I've bet in vegas. The Drink ticket policy sucks at the Mirage if you bet $250 at one time on the major sports you get 2 drink tickets but if you bet just $6 on 1 horse race you also get 2 drink tickets.

Caesars book is nice and big. Plus, I've never payed for a drink there. Kokomo's in the Mirage is a great place to eat. Nice atmosphere and awesome food (get the lobster bisque for appetizer.)
